Merrion Casino Club on Mondays

After the business league in the Fitz last night I wandered up to the Merrion for the 9o'clock start. Its basically the same deal as thursday satellites in the Fitz, free entry, tenner rebuys for first hour and a half.
Its a nice club, not as openly spaced as the Fitz, 6 poker tables but less space. The do the complementary drinks thing as well and no dealers for the free entry :)

One good thing is that the games are nowhere near as loose as the fitz pre-freezeout. I planned to buy in once, and was more than likely getting the bus home before 12, so I played fairly loose. Won a few hands lost a few hands, had fun for a tenner.

I'd recommend it if you're dying for a game of poker on a monday and can't wait til thursday, there's various other buy in games during the week like the Fitz.
Personally I'll stick with the Fitz, seems a bit more organised and the staff are friendlier.

The prize is a ticket to the €100 buy-in Tuesday game. I also went along. Decisded I was not going to buy-in or top up and tried a new style of play. My new style involved going all-in 6 or 7 hands in a row, (I got a text from my gf and was going to go and pick her up.) I ended up winning a tidy sum. I eventually went out in 11th 1 off the final table. All in all it was a good night. The style of play is a bit different to the Fitz on Thursday. Well worth a punt.

So it's official then - the new style - 'The Pick-Up' - has a nice ring to it.

You can joke but that is basically what happened. Unfortunatly for my GF I began to make out like a bandit and had to text her back and tell her to get the bus home. I feel kinda bad cos she went to London at 5am this morning on business and won't be back till late tonight, and then she goes to France tomorrow for a fortnight on holiday.... without me!!

I have to say, there has been a bit of talk about the whole going all in willy nilly before the freeze out. I am coming round to it. That is probably cos I didn't have to rebuy though. If I had lost each of those all ins I imagine I would be thinking a bit different.
