who would you like to see get the next licence and what kind of licence should it be.

    Basically Ireland 5th TV channel.

    RTE?
    TV3?
    TG4?
    OTHER IRISH COMPANY?
    OTHER MULTI-NATIONAL?

a porn channel, dont mind who runs it:D

but seriously, is there really a need for another station. if its going to one of the existing stations could they not just put the money into improving the current schedule, ie drop the rubbish and fill the gaps withj better programming

How about TV3 taking the opportunity to actually produce some home made programming?

That's about the only thing I'd change.

I seem to remember something in the news about liscence applications for local TV channels in a number of towns-Navan springs to mind- sometime before Christmas

    Can anyone elaborate on this?

Hmm, localised TV would be a good idea, even if just for a few hours per day. eg, Truskmore could broadcast a NorthWest channel covering it's reception area from Donegal to Sligo.

As long as it wouldn't be a seperate Tx needing a seperate aerial! I've 3 and that's enough! :p

Got this off the Broadcasting Comission Of Ireland's website from last years press releases. It lists all the expressions of intrest in providing various types of additional tv channels

Would this suggest any new stations would be a good few years away if they are only testing the water so to speak

I beleive that those liecence are for Cable and Sat only not Terestriall.

I am looking for a national station and Digital TV. I mean licences for Sat and Cable is to little to late.
