The new version of firebird is released today... they've changed the name again though, due to licencing issues I think, so now we've got a firefox instead of a firebird.

At least they fixed the problem with rar files ;)

This one has an installer, I don't know if you can get it in zipped form. If you can, it should work in ucd.

I use it in UCD all the time, I have it in my H: drive in in windows and in Linux it's just installed as normal. The only problem in windows is to get it to change the profile directory, which I haven't figured yet and dont care about cause I only use Linux.

The name change is because of a complaint from these guys: http://firebird.sourceforge.net/

Is it just me, or does the new Firefox logo (attached) look a lot like the Firebird logo on the link above? :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 931 ✭✭✭moridin

If anything it looks like the old firebird logo with a fox instead of a phoenix :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,136 ✭✭✭✭Stark

I love the new logo. Awww, cute little fox. It's like Tails having intercourse with Sonic or something.

yup logo is class, and loads up a lot quicker too. Now someone link me all the extensions. :)

Oh the new downloader on it is sweet too!

just a quick note. I usually use IE, but recently went and started using firebird. Earlier this evening I did a search for spywere but the computer found none .... and its been over a week since I did a search. When using IE I'd normally get a good few

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,190 ✭✭✭✭seamus

The installer hints that there will be mouse gestures in a future build.

That's all that it needs to make it the best tbh.

    same with me

i keep thinking my spyware tools are broken. :dunno: :dunno:

I've got gestures. I thought they might be from an earlier install, but I deleted the old version and I still got 'em. Perhaps you should try waving your mouse around. :)

Is it just me or does the cursor look wrong in a textarea? It's very reminiscint of Moz on *nix in this build.

And finally in this issue, I came across theMozilla Amazon Browser the other day. Very cool.

I'm not one to defend MS out of hand, but I run IE constantly and I've been hit by spyware twice, both times my own fault for being in a hurry. If your security settings are right, you simply won't get hit by them. *shrug*
