Just wondering if anyone on the boards are going up to the Intervarsities Judo in Colraine on the 21st of this month?

If so what college you in.. What division you fighting in?

I have no idea what to expect as this will be my first Judo competition..

Also may be a good night out afterwards! Would anyone be up for a few beers?! :)

I'll probably be going, as a lowly white belt.
Hopefully i won't get my ass kicked too badly.

I'm about 81kg at the moment.

As for beers, i'm sure there will be some.

I would be going except I'm in the middle of my finals. Was there last year and managed to come second in -90kg. I was only a yellow belt back then, so don't worry if you are just starting - you can still do well.

I'd say a good few from my club (DIT) will be going.

This is the first one in four years I won't be at.
There's usually a big dinner organised afterwards which in my memory (hazy at best) always proved to be one of the best nights out of each and every year.

    Tee hee hee...

Just thought I'd leave everyone know how my first ever competitive judo fight went...

Me the lowly white belt came up against Chris Donnelly (or at least I think thats his name) who eventually won his weight division, and the open category..

In my defense he didnt beat me quite so quickly the second time... :)

All in all a good day though.. Will definately be back for more judo in Galway in a few weeks..

    How'd everyone else get on?
