I'm in my final year of College, wasn't my first CAO choice, but was ok, have had resonable marks up until now, but this year I've sort of lost interest in it.

Up until now I would pull an nighter to have an essay in on time, if necessary,
but this year I just don't seem to care, if something isin't finished, I simply hand it in later, much later, three, four weeks, attracting a percentage penalty.

I don't think it is depression cos elsewhere I'm fine.

Anyway I'm just posting here to see if anyone else has been in the same situation?

i feel the same way about repeating the leaving cert, i just couldn't be arsed, even though i know my future depends on my results. Fortunatly I am studying but not handing in most work. All you have to do is think "get the finger out" it's your last year.

Get a part time job in crap job that will make you focus on not ever having to work there for the rest of your life.

    Q) Is this qualification necessary for the future job you want?

If it isn't, and you're bored of it not interested, then why waste your time on it? Get out of it and get into the career you want - but think long and hard to make sure it's the career you want, and that you won't change your mind 5 years down the line and think to come back. That or check with the university and see if you can take some time out and come back and take your final year some other time if you find you do want/need it.

If it is essential then as said already, get a really crap job which has nothing to do with what you want to do, and shock yourself into realising you want to do better. In that case push as hard as you can and work as hard as you can to get the best outcome from this course. In the end it's 8 months (max) of your life in return for the rest of your life spent in a miserable ****ty job, or in a well paid job you enjoy! Just remember that you might be stuck in what would now be your ****ty temp job, for the rest of your life. No escape and no prospects!
