ok my uncle was home from england with some pictures he had taken previously at our house on his fujistu digital camera. i thought the pictures looked quite natural represented the colours well and what not compared to my camera which is a canon digital ixus v. i think my camera makes things warm is it? brings out colours to well or makes wood look good and stuff but i'd rather have it more natural. any idea what i have to do on a camera to achieve this will try to post some pics as an example if i get a chance

    cheers

On the Ixus V, there is no such color setting I'm afraid.
On newer cameras (like the A80), there is an "effect" setting: you can get more "neutral" or "vivid" images.

You can try to play with the color balance or post-process your pictures.

Your camera is measuring what's known as the 'white balance' incorrectly.

If you can adjust these in your camera's settings (most have the option), then do so.

It might not neccessarily be the white balance, from the sound of things.

You should easily be able to drop the saturation in any image editing program, though i'm surprised there isn't an option in the camera for it.
