    SP - LP

    LP-SP

    LP-LP

    SP - SP
    To get the best quality copy you should use the best source available and use the highest quality recording standard. Even if the source is low quality you will get better results by coping to a higher standard, if the original is LP a SP copy will be better than a LP copy. With VHS no matter what standard you use there is a big drop from original to copy.

    No.
    DVD - VHS (SP) would be substantially better than VHS (SP) - VHS (SP). Because VHS creates significant degredation the quality of the original material has a big effect on the copy.
