Apparently it's so bad, no distributor in the US wants it. I can't see it being picked up here.

    Talking out your hole.

It's won a whole load of awards, a whole load of critical acclaim and more importantly, was picked up for distribution in the US by Vitagraph, the same people that distributed Happiness of the Katakuris and Ken Park. It got a pretty limited release in the US and the prints are still doing the rounds over there, so I doubt we're going to get to see it on the big screen here.

So we'll have to wait for the DVD.

Where did you get that nonsense? From all the awards it won? That it? A film not getting a wide release is not necessarily an indicator of its quality. Sheesh.

Can't wait for this. It sure is taking its time getting to us in ANY form though.

Not listed on IMDB, but listed on the main Bubba Ho-Tep page:
Bruce Campbell won Best Actor in the US Comedy Awards Festival
Don Coscarelli won Best Screenplay, same festival.
"Official Selection" Toronto Internation Film Festival
"Official Selection" Hong Kong International Film Festival.
Nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay in Fangoria's annual chainsaw awards
    etc. etc. etc.

Weird how you can check IMDB when you want to, but not before you start spouting "That film is wicked bad". If you did, you could see that it's actually listed ahead of the Exorcist, in their list of top horror movies.

    Dick.

If you want to put down a film, you'd want to do a little more research than looking up the IMDB. Some awards that it has won (that took all of 2 minutes to find via the IMDB :D ):
Best Actor : US Comedy Arts Film Festival
Official Selection : Toronto International Film Festival
Official Selection : Hong Kong International Film Festival
Best Screenplay : US Comedy Arts Film Festival

The reason for the delays are that only 7 prints have been made. It is an independent film, and it seems that those behind it want to keep it that way, which doesn't make it a bad film, but will most likely make it a cult film (which is probably the intention).
