    Hi,

I'd like to know how, technically, report a post is working... Is it reported to all the Mods of the forum where the post is or to someone else who assess if the report is genuine or not...
    Well just wondering...

    Thanks
    Raphael

    Thanks Beruthiel...

And then, what the Mods will (should) do?

Yep. The mods all receive an email along the lines of:

    "Hello x,
y has reported this post: (post_url) in the Thread (Thread_name).

    For the following reason:
    (User_reason_text)"

Haven't got one in a while actually.

Apparently all the Admins receive the report too.

    [Edit:
After which, the moderators will take the appropraite action, if any.
Take note that moderators are human and normally have lives. Sometimes they may not check their email for hours. So don't always expect a hasty response.

The admins also recieve that mail. I action every single one I get too. I review it and take whatever action is needed. commonly thats a PM to the offending user but it can be anything from joining in with the merriment myself or banning 3-4 people outright.

And (I guess?!) the person who reported the post, should get, at least, a PM from the Mods or the Admins with the outcome of the report :
    e. g .:
-Com'on you taking the piss there's nothing wrong here
    or
s/he has be warned and s/he will never do it again... peggy swear!
    or
s/he has be banned for life. You can go in peace, the place is safe...

Only if it warrants discussion tbh.

Normally I'd just PM something along the lines of "Cheers for that", but I'm pretty sure I haven't done this for everyone.

I'd make a comment on the thread in question.

Thanks everybody for this nice exposé...

I was wondering because I reported a thread this morning and nothing happened... nothing I can see anyway.
