Theres a link on the deviant art site which enables you to download Lindows ISO for free (from Lindows officially), ~450Mb - the servers are mad busy though, as you can imagine.

A live cd doesnt require a hard drive installation, see Knoppix et all

You can also download LindowsOS 4.5 for free (not the Live CD version) in the downloads section of the Nvu site (http://www.nvu.com)

I'm a Lindows Insider (beta-tester), so I'm aware of all the latest free downloads and announcements I use Lindows most of the time, and I think it's one of the easiest Linux distributions I've used. I only boot into XP for gaming or web development.

The only thing that might scare people away is the $50 per year fee for Click-N-Run. This is the application download service they provide. If you're smart, you can sign up at the website ChoicePC.com and buy a lifetime CNR membership for $100. I've got one myself so I won't have to pay again for the latest applications or versions of the OS.

LindowsOS 5 is currently in development and as an Insider I should be getting my hands on a beta soon. It's going to be a major step, with KDE 3.2 and the 2.6 kernel. They also have renouned Linux artists Ingo and Everaldo working full-time on a new desktop look and feel.
