Well folks, if you thought he was slow before. Apparently both his knees are botched. Both of them need to be scoped and the earliest he can get that done is after Wrestlemania!

    Well it's daa big slooowww.
Yes it's a big bad stink tonight.. dawg - (ohhh)
    Yeah it’s the Big Show
Stink up the ring and turn on all the lights.. y'all - (ohhh)
Why I'm still in the promotion?
    That, you'll never know
    I won't see it comin'
But the P45's in the pooost.

    Em.

Nero man, out of anyone on this board, you know your sh1t more then anyone, so most definatly kudos on that. But I dunno how you can mock the big show.

Yeah ok, hes slow and sufferend from some of the most anying angles of all time, ie: Showster, Taking a ride on his dads coffin, and a condom sales man( brief but that image will be forever tattooed on the inside of my brain)

But the one thing I will always give any wrestler, no matter who, respect and kudos for will be adaptation and willingness to improve. RVD, Trish Stratus either sucked or got crap for their styles. But they adapted and improved.

So did the big show. He was worthy of the WWE title last year i have to say. Not the most worthy, but definatly deserved his 1 month reign. Before he went to smackers, he was horribly stale and probally a cut sudgestion, but think about his matches since then. VS Kurt at Armageddon 2002, Brock at the Rumble 2003, His last few matches with Brock, either with or agenst him. Not to mention his impressive, believible and exciting performance at the Rumble 2 weeks ago.

Apart from all mentioned above, he also will put anyone over, be demoted if needed and do it with a smile on his face. Compare him to "Gillberg" who wont lie down for anyone, and moans like a child.

    IMO Re-ah-spect to Show.

i agree with hanza hes a top performer no matter how you look at him, hes big thats his gimick he moves slow undersells grunts and choakslam and he dose it better than anyone, his willingness to put people over is his only problim this makes him look like a joke, and the fude with the bosman wtf, but think of it this way with all the wrestlres and grapelers dosnt his heel position of a slow big oof work

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 553 ✭✭✭irishman_abroad

I think the Big Show has gotten a lot better in recent times and was impressed with the turn of speed he showed be putting Bradshaw out of the rumble(pulled the top rope down as Bradshaw was running at him). Suprisingly swift movement for such a big guy.

I always hit a nerve with a lot of people on my views of Paul Wight. The thing is, he has rapidly declined in recent years.

Compare with his WCW days, he looked in shape for his height for a start, he could jump the top rope (Even in his early WWE days, he was doing that), hell in WCW he was pulling moonsaults off the top rope!

Last year he managed to stink up a ring of solid workers for five months (referring to the Show/Angle/Brock angle)

I actually thought the Showster was class. Angled jobbed in the match, but it would have (and still has) people talking about it for years.

He's parading around with the US belt like it was a trophy when others on SD could do so much with that belt.

Wight once was good in the ring but lately (in the last two-three years), he's sucked in my own honest opinion.

he was in shape in wcw but then there was THAT JACKKNIFE
hes lucky to wrestle now, hes adapted his stile to the big man and uses his size not his ajylity, it looks grate to see people lift him even though thay can usually bench more anyway

I'll never deny that, anyone who can lift that much human flesh will easily impress me. It's not even the same as lifting dead barbell weight so it's unfair to even compare the two.

Show was set to be a star from the get go. His first night in WCW was spent capturing the world title.
Mabey he has plummited, but from that plummit he has arose once again, and most definitly half of the Smackers roster could do alot better with the US title.

    Hanza

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

I dunno about arising to be honest. I mean, in Smackdown you have Lesnar, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero et al.

Somehow Big Slow just fails in comparison as far as talent scale is concerned.

but he is also constantly thrown in the mix with those guys on smack down and the PPVs.

Granted there is a difference between being in the mix and measureing up, but i honestly think he can carry what needs to be carried on his shoulders. backstage he is very head strong and knows what he is doing. I really dont think he can go to wrong.

the Big Show was a good wrestler (in WCW), and was wasted when he joined WWE, however he did/does need people to carry him

Several things have gone against him

    a) dropped on his head by Nash when getting powerbombed

    b) the way he was introduced into WWE (up through the ring at St Valentine's Day Massacre - how original

    c) never got the big wins over people

    d) knees need to be scooped out

    e) his immense weight problem, he has struggled with it ever since he came to WWE, in WCW he was very slim for a man of his size

    f) in real life he does smoke, so that could go against him aswell

I actually don't hold Paul Wight's weight against him, he did actually try. But Giantism is a bitch and once it flares up, forget about it. I honestly believe that unlike Yokozuna, Wight actually did his best to trim down to when he was back in his WCW days. It was impressive doing fast aglie moves at 420lbs in WCW, but even looking at him jumping the top rope in early-mid 99 is just ugly.

you dont understand how in shape tat gye is untill you see him in persion, i was at the ture de force and was amased at him, although he carries a belly everything is solid thers no gigaly fat like rekisi, but was watching no way out 2001 (austan hhh) and he had jigilly fat just thank god hes in as good a shape as hes in because it was horrable to watch his ass wiggle

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

And you don't understand that despite all this, he STILL STINKS UP THE RING every time he enters it! :)

    Nero

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 424 ✭✭a-hole

thats his style, hes not a wrestler, he gets heel heat by being a slugish big man in a world of graight athelites, same as a-trane but with more talent

p.s. a 10 year contract at top money, i want paul wights agent

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

Except the contracts aren't worth the paper they're printed on... Bret Hart would tell ya this! ;)

    Nero

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 424 ✭✭a-hole

vince told breath to talk to wcw and he was leving for wcw anyway so there was no breach of contract there was just diference of opinion on the defination of artistical development, the contract said he could have a larger impact on the story lines but vinny didnt want the title on nithro

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

    Wrong!
Vince originally did NOT tell Bret to talk to WCW. Watch Wrestling with shadows again for your punishment.

When Bret (reluctantly) did the Job to Michaels at Wrestlemania 12, Brety took six months off to sulk up in Calgary. During that time propositioned Hart. Hart threw up a ridiculous sum of money to try and disuade them, and to his shock and surprise, they had a contract ready.

Vince got wind of this and threw in a 20 year contract for less money. Bret chose the longetivity.

It was one year later, that Vince pulled out of it and THEN told Bret to try for his original deal in WCW.

I never mentioned the montreal screwjob at all.

this is what i was talking about thecontract was never broken thet both opted out of it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

How do you figure that out when Bret never wanted out of it in the first place? He ended up leaving because his face character was ruined from going anti-american and his job as #1 heel was given to Michaels. Vince broke the deal a year afterwards, sugarcoat it all you want a-hole, the fact remains. Vince opted out of it, not Bret.

    So, Big Show eh!!
    Slightly off-topic I know!!

For those who say he's in shape, he's not, the guy said in a recent interview that he dosent even go to the gym or work out, he just uses his 'bigness'!!

His work has improved significantly in recent times, but I account that to Brock/Angle rather than Show himself!!

    He's still a fat ****!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

I like the way this guy thinks ;) He could become an NF and learn all about "nerotude!"

I don't, i live with reading the spoilers, and to be honest, it doesn't sound like i'm missing much.

    I'm a PPV guy only. :)

    No!!
    How do you do it!!
Hell i'll chip in a bit and we'll buy you cable!!

Spoilers cant give you a proper account of the world in wrestling mate!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 424 ✭✭a-hole

seriously? that would explane your lack of respect for big show and hhh

he has to go to the gym hes in too good of shape not to

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 947 ✭✭✭LanceStorm

Can you image Big show trying to use any of the gym equipment??
He'd be FAR too big for anything!!

Id say the only working out he does his lifting his KFC Buckets!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭whosurpaddy

he might not be able to use any of the machines, but theres still loads of ways for him to work out/ excercise. he could still use free weights, jog, martial arts/ aerobic excercise. which tbh id say he does some of . u couldnt do what he does week in week out, without being in shape to a certain extent.

Nero, man how do u live without raw & smackdown man. do u order all the ppv's?, surely u have to have sky to get the ppv's and therefore u could watch the tv shows if u wanted to.

    A Ninja Outfit!:p
Didn't he come out in Hogans Red and Yellow gear one time?

Anywho. Nero man I don't know how you do it.
I purposly dont read the spoilers so I can see the action first hand every friday/saturday.
Show is better when he's doing a funnyman angle. As a heel but trying out his mike skills. The rap off with Cena was good. His Chicks dig it big t-shirt promo while mysterio was in the ring was good also.

I don't know how good he is in the ring really but hes not totally useless!
I do think its a waste throwing him into title races/plots tho.

On a side note what ever happened to to William Regal?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

I've lived without RAW or Smackdown for the last two years.
So far here's some highlights i missed:

    Billy and Chucks wedding.
Jindrack and Cade getting damn near close to one.
Triple H's split with a whining Stephanie.
    Katie Vick angle.
    Mister America.
Zack Gowen almost sinking Matt Hardy's career.
Evolution taking over RAW (or eating at least an hour of it)
Randy Orton spitting in the face of Mick Foley.

If these are storylines watching RAW and SD!, I'll stick to Coronation Street! :P

1-> Brilliant, the whole Bischoff in a mask thing was unpredictable(at least to me)!!
2-> They've been brilliant so far, steaing TripleH's bountry from Orton was there highlight!!
    3-> That was kinda crap...
4-> I loved it, Triple H with the doll pretending it was katie was sick and totally hilarious!!
    5-> Yeah...
    6-> ...hmmm
7-> Exclude Triple H and its been great, another brilliantly dominant faction!!
8-> Fantastic, its giving us the great fued we have now!!

Ok I just got two examples from raw here:

RVD Vs Christian for IC belt. Ladder Match. Main Event. RVD won. Brilliant!
    Also:
HHH Vs HBK. Just before XMAS. Match was about an hour long. Fantastic.

    Smackdown:
Brock Vs Big Slow. The Holy Sh*t moment where the ring collapsed under their weight!
Paul Heymen eating soap at the hands of John Cena or else "Chriiis".

There are good times Nero. They may be few and far between but good all the same!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

I will admit that, but two good matches in a year on each brand does not warrant the €60 odd a month for Sky or NTL. :)

As to how i watch PPV's, for the box office ones I wait for DVD release, for the Sky Sports ones, i usually head to a friends and catch em live.

Yeah... Thats what Ive been saying about the PPV dvd realeases. NO more interviews, no nothing anymore. The personel and special dvds are excellent. Got the Trish one yesterday. Reviewed it on a different thread earlier. Its crammed full of everything. Worth buy... IMO

Do they even give you the match from Heat right before the PPV anymore??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭NeroTheExtreme

Nope, no buildups or storylines, no confidential installments. Just a chapter selection and thats it..

WWE Home video decided a few months back to scrap all extras to make production faster. Yet there is still a three month backlog!!! What a fsckkin` joke.
