Ricky Gervais is to reprise his role as David Brent to make a cameo appearance in The Simpsons, the Sunday Mirror claims today.

Brent will feature in a storyline that sees him getting lost while on holiday in America.

Gervais has become a household name in the US after he won two Golden Globes last week.

A programme source said: "Since then America has gone David Brent crazy. Matching him and Homer will be comedy genius - a perfect pairing."

anyone got more info on this?

Why do I see this being terrible?

Probably because almost without exception the most recent series' of The Simpsons have been terrible. The writing just isn't there...and bringing in whatever novelty guest you like won't change that.

    Sigh.

Simpsons need better jokes, not more guest appearances.

It's not a question of "Will it be terrible?", it is a question of "Will it be more terrible than Tony Blair's guest appearance?"

Maybe they'll let Ricky write this episode hmm? :)
Actually I'd imagine he'd have to put a lot of ideas into it for it to work with the brent charictor... could be a good one.

Can u imagine if Gervais wrote an episode to the Simpsons. A lot of pressure and hype would surround it, but the Man is good.
