Does anybody know how you are supposed to dispose of large items legally?
    e.g a king-size mattress and a metal bed.

So far the cheapest option I can think of is to buy a banger for €10 and stuff the rubbish into it. Apparently, the council will dispose of that for free, and even come and collect it.

Dare I say .... recycle them?

    Cheapest?

Probably haul it to the landfill yourslef. Alas you will probably have to pay the binmen to take away such large items, not offically of course.

There's a free waste recycling place in North Strand if you know someone with a van.
Failing that check out the Herald under "Useful Services" for rubbish removals.
Or you could dump them into your neighbours back garden:D

You can bring it to Ballymount Civic Amenity.

Charges are listed on the website.
