Cleaning a flat panel monitor

Have a 19" CRT flat panel, problem is that people keep pawing it to point out stuff and leave big smudges on it. Theyre pretty hard to rub off with a regular cloth. Anyone know of any simple way to clean them? Thanks

    Folks?!
    It's a thin *plastic* panel.
Just buy some screen wipes, or if you work in an office, just nick them :-)
Windolene is fine for normal glass CRT screens, but has been known to damage *some* (older) tft plastics. Just stick with the wipes.

Dust will just rub off so, even better, don't get your grubby fingers on the screen in the first place?

Yep windowlene is fine for any glass screen.
But just in case somebody does mistake this thread.. never use any acetone based cleaners or wipes with an LCD screen.

Someone pressed their finger on my tft screen, and now Im left with what looks like a bruise on the screen.

They are hard to clean though.

People who 'paw' monitors like that are cretins, what the heck do they think the mouse is for? I find that stabbing their hand with a compass or similar object a few times when you see their finger start to rise in the direction of your monitor trains them to better computer etiquette rather quickly. Prevention is after all better than cure, n'est pas?
