Looking forward to Spider-Man 2 particularily, the trailer looks quite promising. Directed by Raimi and a cameo from Bruce Campbell, always a good thing :)

Just watched the Starsky & Hutch trailer, i was cringing at the thought of an entire film, let alone a re-make, being led by the whiney Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller. It's directed by Todd Phillips though (Road Trip and OLD SCHOOL! YES!), and also stars Snoop Dogg and Vince Vaughan... as well as featuring varying size parts for Will Ferrell, Amy Smart, Carmen Electra and the gang-bang girl from Old School (i think). Might not be all bad...

Saw the Agent Cody Banks 2 trailer - LOL. Coming out only a year after the first one (which wasn't all that bad), it's got Hannah Spearritt (S CLUB 7) as the Banks girl. Ahahah.

Walking Tall - Starring: THE ROCK! Also starring: Johnny Knoxville. Neal McDonough (Minority Report, Band of Brothers, ST: First Contact), Michael Bowen (My name is Buck and i'm here to ****), and yer man who plays Zipachna in Stargate SG1. This is also a re-make, and i can't imagine it being very good. But it's got the Rock and Knoxville...

Oh, and The Punisher too. Looks quite entertaining, stars Thomas Jane (Deep Blue Sea) and John Travolta, who unfortunately looks like being a similarily irritating bad-guy as in Swordfish. Also spotted Will Patton and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. Looks fun.

A guy in work was telling me about new sequels to Die Hard and Indiana Jones? Is this true and where the heck are they?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,003 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

Those sequels are still only in planning stage. Basically there's not even a script yet, just an outline. Don't expect them even remotely soon....

Doing a bit of browsing on IMDB, and I noticed that Todd Philips is also working on the film of the Six Million Dollar Man, with Jim Carrey as Steve Austin.

Regarding the Indiana Jones sequel, I recently read somewhere that Frank Darabont has finished his first draft of the screenplay, and is currently just fine-tuning it. It still won't hit cinemas for at least another year though.

Kill Bill volume 2 is my most antisapated movie of 2004

I saw the trailer for Van Helsing on apple.com this morning.
Looks very cool, should be fun.

They've also got the American trailer for Zatoichi up, but I much prefer the original trailer.
    The voice-over is just irritating.

    Looking forward to Hellboy too.

Yes Blade: Trinity is out this year. Its being written and directed by David Goyer. He wrote the first two. The story is supposed to involve a war between humans and vampires.

Does anybody know the name of SW episode 3?

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

Indeed Troy looks pretty good. Quite a cast: Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger, Sean Bean, Brian Cox, Peter O'Toole, Brendan Gleeson, Saffron Burrows(!) and further down... Tyler Mane (Sabretooth :p)

No, I don't even think it's gone into production yet.

Bah, why isn't Del Torro doing it? Because of Hellboy?
I see it's not scheduled til December though. Which is probably America, which means we may not see it til 2005.

I can't wait for Harry Potter to come out! Never saw the first two in cinema - watched 'em on DVD in November, and thought they rawwked. Also can't wait for The Day After Tomorrow, and of course Troy, and not forgetting Kill Bill Vol. 2.

By the way, is My Boss's Daughter out here yet? It was out in the states there in August, but hadn't heard about it til this evenin.

Looking forward to Alien vs Predator
    Spiderman 2
    Kill Bill 2
Star Wars Ep 3 (mid 2005)
    X-Men 3 (not out until 2006 guys)
    Harry Potter 3
    Jurassic Park 4
actually no scrap the last one

Juarasic park 4?! Dear god let the tired franchise die!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,169 ✭✭✭dangerman

i suppose kill bill vol 2 will be worth a watch.

spiderman 2 i dont have much hope for, i didn't think the first one was as good as everyone kept going on about.

alien vs. predator could be good, but then, i'm not going to get excited cause it could really really mess up the franchises.

I read about 'Elephant' there in the ticket, its only coming out in the IFC but it sounds really interesting. Bet I won't bother going into seeing it though.

if i seem a bit negative, its cause this is the first year without a lotr to look forward to. Whats the point in trying to make any new films? ;)

    the usual fare.

possibly good, but big time turkey potential are:
    spidey 2
    the punisher
    hellboy
    avp
riddick (especially, could easily go either way, but expectations high all the same)
    troy
monster with charlize theron which looks like it could be interesting. if only to see her not looking stunning (if you know what i mean), and christina ricci of course.
and the day after tomorrow which will most likely be standard disaster fair, but again has some potential.

punisher has my back up, i dont see why it was chosen as a film adaption.

of all the marvel hero origins, this has to be the least original/least cool/most done in other films.

And the trailer makes it look very very standard and not at all interesting.

Gotta recommend (and plug) a friend's flick... 'Headrush' which is coming out in the next month or two. Being shown at dub film fest next month. Yesterday's sunday times had a spread on it and the director in the culture section. Tis an Irish-made comedy with some (of the film and the ppl!) shot in amsterdam.

Outline (without giving the plot or too much else away) is - 2 stoners need to make some money and then try to make a cleanish break but get involved with the wrong sorts and get other innocents involved too by accident creating all sortsa comic situations and some unforgetable scenes.

Familiar faces include BP Fallon, Steven Berkhoff, Huey Morgan. Refs galore to scarface in particular

Bah, why isn't Del Torro doing it? Because of Hellboy?

Del Toro said that he wanted to make a second Blade film but that he has always wanted to make Hellboy. But only if he could use Ron Pearlman. And well, the studio said they'd give him 80 million if he cast Nicholas Cage (I Think) in the main role or 60 million if he still wanted to use Ron Pearlman. So Del Toro took the 60 million. This is proborably the first time anyone has said either Ron Pearlman gets the role or Im walking.

Shrek2 is also out this summer.

I think the Thunderbirds movie is out later this year too (not getting hopes up though after the blockbuster dross we had to endure in '03)

Wallace and Gromit is scheduled for a late 2005 release I believe. Yayyy. :)

Oh dear god! The film would have been abysmal if Cage was cast! Ron Perlman is a fantastic actor, and he's perfect for the role... He just is Hellboy.

    BP Fallon?
You're down a punter, just by mentioning that guy's name.

I'm hoping and praying the day will come along soon when people will stop encouraging him, and he'll get the message and.. y'know.. stop living.

If that's what you call what he's doing right now.

That reminds me.. the live-action Garfield movie is being released this year. It's got the guy from Road Trip as Jon, and Bill Murray doing the voice of Garfield.

Which is pretty ironic, considering the guy who voiced Garfield in the TV series is the same guy who voiced Bill Murray's character in Ghostbusters cartoon.

Okay, so I lied about it being "ironic".

Hellboy looks cool, the guy playing him looks really right for the part!
KIll Bill volume 2 is gonna be sweet!
    Spiderman 2!
Harry Potter 3! hopefully it will be a bit darker than the first two, can't wait to see what they do with the dementors!

I can only think of a load of sequels and comic book movies right now, any good Orignals on the way?

    What's tater's precious!?

    can wait for shrek 2.

the first one is a classic!

    van helsing looks good aswell.

is alexander with colin farrell going to be out this year? be interesting to see how that is with Troy out this year. Both have a strong cast. Also to see if Farrell can pull it off in a massive leading role.

spiderman 2 will be worth a watch aswell & of course kill Bill Vol 2. i heard the release date is put back on that tho :(
