Theres always activated FTV cards with their decoders for sale on ebay.

Has anyone bought one of these? I'm really missing Channel 4 and thinking of thaking the chance on one of these boxes.

    Any advice?

    It's always a risk.
The machine could be faulty or not working or the card not authorised or ever switched on even.

Having said that , I got my first ftv card and box that way and havent looked back.

Make sure you are buying from a user with plenty of good feedback and sales behind them and ASK them if the card is authorised and if CH4 is currently viewable with it.

As tempting as it may be to put in a bid on a cheaper item always go for traders who have an excellent feedback record, ones who have been trading for some time especially. If they have a hard-earned flawless reputation they will not be likely to risk it by ripping you off. I bought 2 boxes with cards from ebay, both were exactly as described and I had no problems.

I have bought on ebay before with no problems except you have to be careful in regards to P2 cards (the ones with the house on them).

Previously P1 cards which were ex sky sub acted as a FTV card when sub finished. This is not necessarily the case with P2 . ( I found out the hard way).

So make sure you ask the question what type of card and can it get ITV/C4.

    Regards

Also technically, while you can buy & sell Digibox (the box belogs to subscriber from day1), the cards belong to Sky. Even the ones the BBC paid for. Even the ones you pay £23.50.

The money is to cover costs and make a profit, not for you to actually own the card.

So quite rightly some boxes are NOT advertised as having cards. Contact the owner and perhaps he may "forget" to remove it when shipping.

In fact it may be illegal to advertise a box as comming WITH a card.
