Ah you're missing out. I've only had one chance to visit donelgal but the vis was 20m (no bullsh1t there). Also you should have a read of this. There are a couple of operators up there.

You have a couple of instructor certs in training that i might be interested in....do you have a website with prices and such or do you intend on instructin at all here in ireland.

I'm currently qualified with IANTD - Advanced Nitrox & Deco procedures but would like to get my Trimix ticket this season... euro's permitting ofcourse.
I do dive a twinset but don't use the long hose for the hogartian wrap.

Peace, cant advertise but yes I have a website. I am not a trimix instructor, I am TDI advanced trimix certified. I plan on running courses in Donegal, Valentia and Cork. Dublin also. All theory work could be completed in Dublin prior to away trips leaving lots of time for practicals.
I am diving long hose now 4 years, just 2nd nature now. I like the Hogarthian rig .
    Just my personal preference.
    best
    Jack

Its ok to answer a direct question but the rules are there to stop people blatantly coming on and touting themselves....ie free advertising and getting on everyone's nerves - that dog won't hunt with boards.ie powers.

    So, whats your website? ;)

Also, one of the links you posted was a very DIR point of view web site...is that your view also...you a DIR diver?

I dont think he`s a 100% DIR guy or else he would have run GUE courses.

I have also used loong hose for a few years and are quit happy with that, but i will never replace my poseidon regs.

Yeah, i dive poseidon regs as well...well one poseidon and one oceanic but the oceainic is the spare....

Whats the deepest you been to on the poseidon nordicdiver?
Once is was at 64m and i though i noticed some fluttering. Switched over to my oceanic and it was fine. But i know the poseidons are good a fair bit deeper. Maybe i need a service or something.

Have never had any problem with poseidon with deep air, have been 10 meters deeper then you in cold water and no problem (jetstream) have cyklon on my stages and they are exelent to.

Look out for the new Poseidon Xstream:

At inhale and exhale the resistance is minimal, e.g. 0.07 Joule at inhale at 150 meters (app. 495 feet) depth.

    FORGET EN-250.
Xstream is tested to as deep as 200 meters (approx. 650 feet). What which tests can be trusted and what are do different approvals guarantee, for? To make a long story short, the EU produced a stan-dard for regulators, EN 250, which proves that you can dive with air down to 50 meters metres (160 feet) of depth. Nothing else. But what do you do for those who dive deeper than that with mixed gases, and that who want equipment that is tested for all the most extreme situations? This is where Poseidon and Xstream enter the picture. We have continued far beneath deeper than the existing standards, all the way down to 200 meters (650 feet), still with the same good high performance and quality ies on the regulator. At these depths it is not the equipment from Poseidon that sets the limits it is the diver himself...

I can have a look at your poseidon regs, are the best on poseidon in ireland (just had to say that:D ).

Have a crazy friend in Norway that have been at (131 PO2 3) on air and did 225m meters with heliox, thats another story but he has done 100+ meter with jetstream on air and was happy with how it performs. He used apex on his record dive to 225m because of the the support and gear he got from the Norwegian Apex importer. www.nordicexplorers.com/225_meter.htm (its in norwegian)

I like to dive with switched on buddies. DIR has a lot of positive points. Its derived from the Hogarthian system made famous by Bill Main. While I personally am not DIR, a good friend of mine is.
A lot of the bs that goes on comes from ppl that dont know anything about DIR. There is only one GUE instructor in these islands, Andy Kerslake and he is a good guy. The head of GUE, Jarrod Jablonski, is in the IANTD Encyclopaedia of Technical Diving illustrating the Hog. rig. Tom Mounts rig is nearly Hog. with one shoulder quick release....also in E.of T.D.
You guys beat me on air depths by a mile. Your records are safe from me:)
    best
