    Ok what exactly is Wi-F?

What are the main advantages of this new means of communication technology to us?

Where can it be used throughout the Republic?

Are there plans for it to become a major part of this technological era we are in?

This is for a work/research releated project.

    All opinons would be appreciated.

    Divine,

It's a standard that works. As a general rule if you turn off WEP then any two WiFi approved devices can talk to each other with no more difficulty than setting up a cable between them Blooth and other Wireless technologies aren't as standard.

    cf. www.irishwan.org
    search for hotspot WLAN etc.

As for it being a mojor technology - you have obviously done NO research, excluding cheapo end of line notebooks. 90% of brand name portable PC's sold this year will have WiFi built in. It is potentially a 3G killer.
