TV Licence

    I just heard from 2 people in work that you needed to have a seperate licence for each TV in the house rather than per househole.

    Can anyone link to something to clarify this either way..

    That is not true. You need one TV licence per household. You can have any number of TVs in the house and they are all covered by the one licence.

    The only exception would be a house with a separate flat rented to students. They would need their own licence.

    A holiday home needs its own licence, but again any number of TVs.


    Hotels, Guest houses, Prisons etc I think are different.


    You don't actually need to be using it. If it is not in use cut off the plug otherwise it is in use.
