    teleporting photons?
using lasers as tractor beams for individual particles?
some other part of star trek that can only be acheived on the small scale?

how about using bose condesates to slow light? you can bring in a range of sciences such as quantum optics, low temperature sciences. should be possible to create a 15 min seminar pretty easily and there's prpbably loads on the web!
