Astra viewin card

Have a friend lookin for a card - legal - to be able to watch all the astra channels
he says he has the cams etc but his card no longer works
i have no clue what im talkin about but i hope someone here does

does such a card exist and if so where can it be got
appreciate the help

Which Astra Channels ? I have heard there is an issue with Dutch services and Aston cams, due to CD Holland moving to a newer version of their encryption - a number of legit cards have been unable to update this month.

lookin for canal+ koisque (think thats how u spell it)

he has an aston and an irdeto cam
needs cards 4 one/both

also he has a nokia 9800 reciever and a manhatten 7800

lookin 4 showtime 4 the irdeto cam and canal+ movie channels on the aston

There is no such thing as an Astra card.

No card gets all the Channels.

A Canal+ subscription gets you a Canal+ card, I could be wrong, but thought the "Kiosk" channels are like "Sky Box Office Movies", you need a subscription card AND they are Pay Per View.

A basic Canal+ sub can be legally got here and is cheaper than Sky.

Tune in the Canal+ "Free-to-air" barker channel and ring the phone number or order from their web site.


Third party card resellers usually add a big profit margin

Pirate cards are waste of time, energy, money and often illegal. Some folks end up paying more for "programmers" cards, CAMS etc than a legitimate sub would cost.

If he had a legal Canal+ sub and is using an aston cam which is version 1.05 that could be the problem, I know a few people who have these cams and cards have not updated due to a migration to 1.06...though I've only heard it happening in Holland so far....

It is designed for twin tuners ( topfield etc.)

Nope, I have a number of friends in The Netherlands using various boxes which all failed to update in Jan, when they contacted CD they were told they would need to upgrade from Aston version 1.05 to version 1.06. They, CD, supposedly made the "adjustment" to knock out the various UCAS boxes and Cams in use.

I am sure they were told that they would be better off buying the from canalDigitaal new Cam the Mediagaurd Cam.Hereby CanDig earns licence fees.

If you call CanDig and tell them you missed an update they will always tell you that they only gaurentee viewing with a Mediagaurd box.
It is only since last May( when the new cards were issued) that they say that you can use a CI receiver but only with their Mediagaurd Cam and not with the aston secas

Talking to one today, they have agreed to swap his card for an Irdeto 2 one as in his case it was an irdeto sub he had originally and only switched to mediaguard when they started running the "Irdeto package is not as good as the Mediaguard package" ads last year....

Kiosk channels are PPV and wouldn't be available outside France if using an aston 105 cam or even using one of the C+ goldboxes as the phone line couldn't be connected. Tell him to switch to 1 west theres 22 Scandowegian Kiosk channels using Conax and keys etc on the net for them .
