Problem with US Dell Laptop

A friend of mine has just arrived from the US. Her Dell laptop is refusing to charge.
Either her US-UK voltage converter is wonky or the inbuilt a/c adapter on her lead is gone.

The green light on her inbuilt ac adapter is going brighter and dimmer.

Will an Irish lead / ac adapter do the job?
