Verifying mirrow sub with Sky

Hi guys, I’ve been a reader for a while and enjoy the forum but I have never actually posted before, however this problem is driving me nuts, has anyone any thoughts?

I have had sky digital for a good while but a few months ago I got a sky+ box and put the old digibox upstairs both connected to the same telephone line to avail of the reduced sub for the second box. Sky require verification that both boxes are in the house to allow me the reduced second subscription which I think is fair enough. In my case however Sky cannot seem to verify that both boxes are connected to the same line, I have spent hours trying to sort this out.

Firstly I have an ISDN line (with 1 computer, 2 digiboxes and 2 other phone points), secondly I am ex directory and I have caller line ID switched so that my number does not normally appear when I phone someone. I have put the prefix 142 into the telephone settings in the install menu, which is supposed to reveal my number, but this did not work. The latest sky person I talked to said I had too many phones but I don’t believe this, she then went off and came back and said I should switch on the ISDN line filters, whatever they are. The next step is to ring Eircom a prospect I am not looking forward to. Has anyone else faced these difficulties? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi I have ISDN and my sky+ and digiboxs will not connect via the ISDN in fact the box does not even recogise that it is connected to the phone. If you have socket before the ISDN box the boxs should work thats the only I can connect my boxes.

Its sorted now. Its appears that with the ISDN line putting in the prefix just does not work - might effect those making calls for FTA cards. However there is a more complicated code in the user manual for the ISDN equipment that allows you to turn caller line ID (CLI) on and off which I did and it sorted the problem. Its still a pity however because I am now forced to have my CLI switched on all the time now which I would prefer not to.
