My windscreen wipers when set on "int" shudders and stops half way up the windscreen, then a few seconds later moves another little bit and then a few seconds later completes the wipe. Its a common problem on 1990 bmw's The second mode works fine aswell as the third (fastest) mode. What i want to know is do they check all…

What i want to know is do they check all the windscreen wiper modes or just spray a bit of water on and see if they move.

Im sure it depends on the tester but if it is found it would be a likely fail.
You could pick one up from a scrappie for a low cost.

Pick what up ? a wiper motor??.

Its easilly fixed but taking the motor out is the problem.
