Nominations Announced for 2004 Meteor Ireland Music Awards

The Corrs Are Confirmed To Appear (groan!)

Meteor Mobile Communications and MCD are delighted to announce that the 2004 Meteor Ireland Music Awards, Ireland’s most exciting music event of the year, will take place at The Point Theatre on Monday, 1st March 2004. The star studded event, which is now in its fourth year, will be hosted by comedian Dara O’Briain and televised by RTE.

International superstars The Corrs have confirmed that they will perform at this year’s Meteor Music Awards.

There will be eighteen Meteor Ireland Music Awards presented this year. Meteor has introduced a voting system making it easier than ever for fans to place their votes for their favourite radio DJs, artists and bands. The public will be invited to vote for a shortlist of nominees in eight categories, compiled from the votes cast by a host of Irish music industry representatives and music journalists (see full shortlist of nominees overleaf).

Music fans can vote for their favourite artist or band by texting the key word VOTE to 53500. All text votes will cost no more than 60c across all three Irish networks (last year was 30c I recall) All voters will be entered into a competition to win VIP tickets to the awards and an amazing 10 day luxury holiday in Las Vegas staying in the five star Belagio Hotel.

Last year’s Meteor Ireland Music Awards saw some of the world’s top acts perform including Tom Jones, Simply Red, Westlife, Bob Geldof, Finbar Furey, The Thrills, Alabama 3, B2K, Samantha Mumba, Phil Coulter with Brian Kennedy and Sinead O’Connor.

1,000 Meteor Ireland Music Awards tickets priced €30 (including booking fee) will go on sale on Friday, 23rd January at 8am through ticketmaster and usual outlets nation-wide. Corporate VIP tickets priced €100 will be available from Wall to Wall PR & Event Management, Tel: 01-6690939.

    Yeap, they're Irish.
Formed in Scotland and spend much of their time in Scotland
    but they're from Northern Ireland.

I think its disgusting that you have to pay for all these Txt in votes. Your supplying that company with your time and opinion and they're charging you?! If nobody voted for big brother they'd have to pull the show!

    Money grabbin so and so's!
