Trouble playing DVDs

Forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject of DVD players....

My comps internal DVD/CD-RW combo has trouble playing certain DVDs. It plays some region-free and region 2 DVDs fine, but other region 2 DVDs, it's plays some of the DVD (usually the start with the warning and the film producer's logo), and then the playback goes all over the shop. Kind of like a scrambled satellite channel.

I'm guessing that some DVDs are locked out from being played in computer players? :( If so, is there any software out there to overcome this?

try anydvd (google it) it removes all the things that can stop your dvd's playing (macrovision etc.) and might sort your problem.
