IOFFL have to get on these programmes, even if it means McRedmond refuses to appear at the same time.

edit> Matt Cooper has just noted that there has been a huge response to the feature and all of it hostile judging by the comments he just read out!

    Well done lads! :D

Rang in to the comment line and said I was disgusted at Matts shoddy interview. Was like he had a list of very good questions, but he wasn't listening to the answers, and was allowing McRedmond to either not answer the question and divert his response to how great Eircom is, or else tell blatent untruths. Matt then, rather than challenging McRedmond, just read out his next question. Asked how the programs sponser, EsatBT would react to the provision of free advertising for Eircom.

Needless to say, my comment was not read out.

whose the guy who did the report? Pat Massey? excellent stuff.

Smart telco guy (Oisin) is good.

Ted Harding had a nice figure from 'Consumer Choice' Survey, that eircom are the second dearest telco in europe!

Thankfully the indo/eircom's Richard Curran wasn't chairing this discussion.

In those two interviews (very good by the way) Eircon mention a “low user scheme” surely this can be applied to people (eg ME) who have signed their telephony sevices over to UTV ?
And what's more I only make about 2 very short local calls per week !

'fraid not. Apparently, you can't have CPS with the VUS scheme. (Probably grounds for an anti-competitive charge there, if you wanted to push the issue. You're either a "vulberable user" or your not. If you qualify for the scheme, then oreillycom don't have any right to prevent you using some other CPS provider).

Was it my imagination, or did McRedmond have the audacity to claim that oreillycom are actually losing money on the Access Network?

Maybe we can all chip in and help him out by taking that loss-making white elephant off his hands for a token price!

You're forgetting that McRedmond is a big fat fibber Ripwave. I did mention.
