Maybe you know about this one already but its a site covering fuel prices throughout the country. The only problem seems to be that all details are entered on a trust basis so I'd verify any prices on it but probably good to use as a guideline. The more popular it gets the better the info I suppose!

    Lads,

All the stations on the Finglas road are charging a whopping price of 79c a litre, thats 10c cheaper than most other places in Dublin. Really does make a difference.

the petrol prices are just horrendous - in louth anyway! cheapest is 92.9! Well There's 2 places with 90.3 in Dundalk so maybe there's cheaper some where else?

Tesco opened up a garage in Figlas selling at 79c a litre...so all the rest had to follow, these garages are usually busy but not very busy so its well worth it..... word is Tesco are planning to open up a few more around the country - happy days :D

If you do your food shopping in tesco too you get a further 5c per litre off your total in their garage

http://www.cheaperheatingoil.ie is a genuine saving. I think it is Texoil that run it. I rang Texoil to get a price and then rang number on website and the same girl answered the phone but I got the cheaper quoted price.

That is 5c per liter off PER €40 spent. If you do your weekly shopping and it amounts to €200, you will get your petrol for.......

    €0.54 per liter :D

Ta Tesco, Ta competition in this country

BTW reason people were never getting value for money in filling up - we've all had this conversation:

Q: do you think petrol is getting expensive these days?
A: Nah, always put in a tenners' worth, always the same

    Hi,
I find Shell garages cheaper in general, (other than Tesco of course ) ... the lowest I've seen is the Shell in Balbriggan @ 85.5, compared to Esso up the road @ Gormanstown a whopping 92.6 that's 7.1p extra a litre....needless to say they are cashing in on the fact the are the last petrol stop on the M1 until you hit Dublin ... maybe it's worth a little detour

Shell in Rathoath are 86 & Shell at Clontarf are 88.6.
Boy I wish I lived around Finglas ... maybe their trend will start to spread !

We live in Dunshaughlin and once a week I used to do the shopping in Blanch SC. Now I figure it's better to travel on to the M50 and head for the Finglas exit which is the next jct I can shop in Tesco Clearwater (a very nice Tesco btw) and fill up as I leave with the cheapest petrol in Dublin and get a further 5c/ltr off by buying my normal shopping.

One gripe-small I know. IF they could post the discount on your clubcard you could then insert the clubcard at the pump registering for your discount, fill up and pay at the pump with you credit/debit card avoiding the need to go in to the shop and pay. It would speed up the queque enormously.

Otherwise very well done Tesco and I hope you open loads more and create even more competition in the seemingly slick petrol cartel!!:D
