    Well anyone see this one yet?

    I saw it last week and I thought it was quality stuff. Jude Law and Nicole Kidman were brilliant together as were most of the other big name co-stars like Brenndan Gleeson, Natalie Portman, Giovanni Ribisi, Donald Sutherland and of coarse the wonderful Renée Zellweger. IMHO Zellweger should be the frontrunner for best supporting actress this year. She was fantastic in the movie.

    As for the movie itself - well it was really good to put it bluntly. Alot of people mightn't agree but that's what I thought. Even though it was early over 2.5 hours long, the pacing of the movie kept me interested the whole way through.

    Textbook film-making and lots, lots more from Anthony Minghella.

    I gotta say, i thought the film looked kinda boring. now i thinks jude law is a great actor and nicole is good,but from the trailers, the film looks just plain like a gone with wind remake

    That was my take on the trailer too. Went to the UGC last night with girlfriend and unfortunately Cold Mountain was sold out :( so we had to go see Return Of The King :cool:

    Well you're wrong as I've seen the movie :p OK there are GWTW elments but - for example - Law's storyline is his own. His little encounters are really quite interesting, especially as there's some great accompanying acting talent.
    I agree also that the movie - although long - doesn't seem long. There's enough happening to keep you interested. Teague and the psychotic Bosie (Nathan from C4's "Queer as Folk") make an interesting storyline on Nicole's front and, yes, Zewelleger deserves an Oscar nomination, and perhaps the statue itself, for her work here. I'd also see it pick up nominations in costume design, photography, score, best movie, best director, and so forth.
    Well worth seeing.
