I was wondering if anyone has experience of using a dual sim card adaptor in a Nokia 6310i. I've mailed a few companies selling them for more info but have had no replies. I've a Dutch and Irish mobile and was hoping I could divert one to the other but no joy...

If anyone could shed some light on how they work, especially the ones with a switch I'd appreciate it. Also - any decent site to purchase would be really helpful...

    Thanks

They are all over Ebay.co.uk and ebay.com .

Some of them work by switching to ther other card each time you power the phone off and on again I think.

Thats as much as I know of them unfortunately!

    horribal yokes

just guessing but i can imagine you will have the fallowing problems

1 clears all you call register history
2 clears text messages that are saved on the phone
3 all numbers must be saved on the phone or you'll lose assigned tones or caller groups
4 signal drop to 0 bars sometimes and you have to power cycle to get it running again

because the above can happen when you swap sim on unlocked 3310,3330, 3510i, 3200 and 5210

    hopefully 6310i will be different

    Hi
I have used triple sim back with nokia 3310 for ages without difficulty. One sim for each network, 085,086,087. Powering off and powering on the phone to change network for those backs without switch. For sim backs with switch power off and move switch and power up again to change network. Powering off and powering on without moving switch and you stay on the same network. Sounds complicated but trust me ..it ain't.
This is the first time I've posted ,so (to the administrators)forgive me if I'm committing a fau pas by advising you of where I shop.... http://www.solware.co.uk
I've dealt with them on a number of occasions and found them good. Check for yourself send an email first.

Just did a bit of a search on Ebay.co.uk, and Ebay.com and have I reckon this is the best option all round, Particulary if you dont want a bigger back cover for your phone or if that option is not available(i.e. in the case of my SE T610) . Most of what id seen of Twin SIM adapters up to now were bulkier items, or required the roomier cover to fit, so id not bothered. :

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3377103096&category=42398&rd=1

Any comments/issues you could see with this?
Besides having to be careful not to masacre your SIMs completely to fit it.

Have mailed the seller to check shipping/handling to Ireland and how you switch between SIMs, I assume its by turning the phone on/off, but ill post up when he/she replys.

Would be handy to have, as I swap between an Meteor and an O2 SIM sometimes. At the moment I just carry the O2 SIM in my wallet, but after about 6months of this, the SIM got too scratched to work and I had to get a replacement(luckily it was my first which is free on Speakeasy.

EDIT: Fcuk me but that was quick:

    Hi there,

If you wish to buy outside EBAY just send £12 inc all postage and fees, but as you are outside UK this would be sent standard mail with no insurance at your risk. I have had no probs so far. If buying on EBAY price is exactly same as for UK but with standard mail service with no insurance. Everything else you say is correct and yes it will work in the T610. All sims are tested prior to despatch. Yes you power on and off to switch.

    STEVE

Just to add- there are other sellers on Ebay who seem to be selling the same item for £28stg....

EDIT2 : 30mins Google-ing it, and I cant find it cheaper than this auction.
But I did find the company that manufactures it in China, or at least a company that manufactures a similar product and I have emailed them asking if they sell direct/have an agent/dealer who will ship internationally.

    Wow.... Thanks for the help....

mukki - I noticed that when carrying just one phone.. pain but easier than carrying two phones around.

Faltermyer - Not sure if the slim "ghost" dual sim will squeeze into a 6310 so I've mailed off to ask.. The extra size isn't an issue as the 6310 is quite big anyway... but as long as it will still fit in the car kit I'm happy.. I've noticed new ones appearing on ebay so I'll contact them. Thanks for the searching...

tapest - Solware looks like a good site, I'll mail them and get some help..

    Thanks again...

To be honest, I dont see why the above device wont fit into pretty much every phone out there.

Best way to know is to have a look at the SIM slot in your phone and see if there is any "play"/extra space there. I reckon theres an extra 1mm of depth in my SIM slot on my T610(if I push the SIM against the reader) so id be fairly confident the above one will fit.

When you mail them, give them all details re phone and car kit you're using. They'll tell you if it will fit. Plus any other info you're after. They're good like that.
