just hoping there is someone out there who could lend me a hand with perfecting my leaving cert pieces. For free preferably, but i'm sure a small monetary donation (or some food :p) might be available.

    Pieces i'm doing:
    Johnny be Goode
    Radiohead - Paranoid Andriod
    Bach - Saraband Und Bouree
    Mauro Giuliani - Etude 23
    The Beatles - Blackbird
And some italian piece i can't remember the name of.

I'm grand at the last 2, but if theres anyone who would be willing to offer some help on the others, please offer. Arrangements can be made through pm's if someone is willing to give me a hand.

    .

wot exactly are u havin trouble with.. if somethin is too hard for u too play then dont play it for the leavin, its just too much pressure, but if ur confident that u can nail it by then then by all means proceed..

    johnny be goode

although this is a great song and kik ass to play, it may not be good to play for the exam cos its just too repetative, it'll get borin after the first chorus unless someone is singing along.. the same goes for paranoid android,, are u usin an electric for this exam

but i played some songs that were very repetative in my exam and still got 100%, but the guy said that it was too repetative(i gotta stop sayin that word)..

just stick to songs that are not too hard to play but can make an impression..

best to play somethin perfect than to play somethin harder and make a mistake,

    ya dig??!!

Its not that they are difficult (i'll have em grand in a few weeks), its just i feel that i could add extra to it, i.e. perfect it better.

If you think the songs are two repetitive (and i kinda agree on that one...) what other songs would you suggest?

EDIT: i'm going to try and convince my bro to play drums for me, and get a friend to sing for johnny and blackbird.

Don't bother with the drums etc, the examiners get pissed off if they have to wait for stuff to be set up etc.
Just do some practice and you'll be grand, maybe record a backing track on a 4 track or something, or play something from a Guitar magazine that already has a backing track that you can play along to.

Are you singing Paranoid Anderoid? Because if you're not it will sound **** cos it's too long to be played on guitar.

    Backing tracks, interesting....

Would it be possible to download backing tracks off the internet for any of those songs, or what can i do? I hadn't thought of doing that. Even some (slightly crappy) midi files would do, but i wouldn't know where to start finding specific ones.

I'm playing a "customed" version, e.g. a shorter one. I couldn't imagine the examiner sitting through the full song. And i can't sing :(
