Need Job Idea's???

I have just finished up working in Dunnes Stores and the reason I left was the hours and days of work. I am 17 and I have a place in College deferred for a year and this was my first "real" job and it lasted for 3 months. I am looking for a 9-5, mon-fri job until September and I am having a hard time finding one. I would work in most places that would have me. I have only applied for one job on FAS.ie and that is working in a warehouse lifting stock and usual stuff.

The main things I need are hours like the ones above and preferably Dublin Southside (not too South) or city centre and obviously fairly good pay. Most of the job categories I would be interested in I wouldn't even think of and most of the ones on the internet are computer, sales, hotel related.

    Any idea's.

    Thanks in advance.

You sound like you're being too fussy.
You may be better off not telling potential employer that you intend to go to college in a year because they may want someone more long-term.
You're not in position to look for a good rate of pay yet, particularly if you only want to work 9-5. You get an alright pay working on a building site or as a machine operator in a factory.

When I said fairly good pay I meant once its not ridiculus. I wa on €7.40 in Dunnes, anything around that is fine.

    Thanks for the replies.

well just try going round any of the shops round town, its probably the easiest way you'll find work at 17. you would be surprised, as i saw a few 'staff required notices' in shops round the stephens green centre and grafton street etc. even if they don't have a sign up they usually hold onto cvs for when a job vacancy does arise, so its always worth printing off a few dozen and handing them in. sure you've nothing to lose. pay in retail can be quite bad though. i earn 6.50 an hour in quite a well known shop.....but the job is enjoyable so it makes up for it. :)
