I noticed that NTL are broadcasting a message on their info channel saying that they plan to introduce a new service on the info channel in the near future that will broadcast between 7pm to 6am

Anyone know what they are proposing to transmit

Yeah, I saw that earlier. It's probably gonna be more of the usual crap that they show currently. I can't see it being an actual channel.

According to a message on that channel over the weekend, the new service was supposed to start Monday 5th January and was to be QVC!

The link there is for UK channels, not analogue cable in Ireland. This, here is the current listing of channels, but it doesnt include there is an Info channel on analogue in Dublin, and maybe in Waterford and Galway too (it used to be called the Link channel in Cablelink days) NTL are going to close this. During the daytime, on this channel is Nickelodeon, and that wont be changing.

    Paramount, per chance?

That would seem the most likely, although it wouldn't be my first preference. :dunno:

Might it be the one of the new BBC channels? BBC3 and BBC4 usually only start transmitting at around 7pm so that would fit in.

That message is on the Cabletext channel down here as well, I was scratching my head trying to think of a 7pm onwards channel and BBC 3 and 4 are the only ones that spring to mind...

Does anyone know why the NTL Local channel was never broadcast 24/7 on digital. I know content wasn't great, but the local programming was once very good. Remember "cooking on the edge" every Friday nite!

Maybe not enough content available to have on 24/7.

Ah yeah, I remember that now, I was there doing a bit of shopping when they were recording one of the shows, IIRC it was in the middle of Nutgrove shopping centre.

Who was the chef can anyone remember?

Does NTL Technical know anything about this?

TBH, I'd have preferred Paramount to QVC.

Mind you I do watch Small Office Home Office on it now and again.

No info on it, but I was in at the Dublin "chinatown" over the weekend, only to see that NTL cooking on the edge guy (rory I think) doing some demos for Knorr!

The Sky News that we currently have is "Sky News Eire." The only difference that there currently is, is that it has irish ad's. We don't get the British feed at all.
