Does anyone own an iTrip FM trasmitter for 3G iPod?
Are they any good? What are the range and sound quality like?

I live in a rural area and have one . It now has a range of about 100 feet . See Here and the reception is fine at that range with no hiss etc. The spectrum above 100Mhz is not in use where I live though.

I thought these things were illegal in Ireland and the UK?

I heard that too (UK Specifically). Its the equivalent of running your own pirate station....

Not sure if its the same situation in Ireland. Besides - who will enforce it?
