Now I’m not sure where to start here. Or how many people out there are interested but let see anyway. I was in Australia for years Working Holiday about 2 years ago and feel in love with the place. Its people and the country was just amazing. But looking round the web I’ve noticed there doesn’t seem to be a place to check out if you were every thinking of heading down under to OZ.

So I came up with a site. Ok so it’s still a little rough yet but I’ll get there. And I think it has a few things people might not know already. What I hope to do is have a place on the for everyone to meet. Those who are on they’re way to Australia and those who are already there. So everyone might be bale to help each other out. So we all enjoy our time in OZ

I’d love to get some feed back on it. Any compliments and criticisms they all very welcome b/c it’ll help me build a better site. I’m no webmaster expert so I’m trying to keep it simple .

I’m doing all of this b/c I just loved Oz so much and want more to see what I did. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get back into the country. If anyone has any way they’ve heard to get back in (Legal ) mind b/c I want to spend more time there . I’d love to hear. Yeah yeah marry an Aussie is a quick way but find one here lol.

Anyhow we’ll see how this goes. Hopefully they’ll be interest

The presentation of the site is reasonable. However there is very little content - everything just links to commercial websites (what I have seen e.g. Western Union for money transfer, another commercial company for visa advice) - these are unnecesary - most people who have been to Oz will if you talk to them anytime give straightforward advice.

It would be better if you took the time to write up personal experience/advice on how to do things.

BTW on getting into oz basically you can either get a company to sponsor you (for which you really need to be in OZ already),
or apply under the points test (immi.gov.au for details - need a degree basically, and preferably an Ozzie relative), or apply to set up a business (need a LOT of money) . Application takes about 2 years.
There are various other odd ways (if you are a priest or an international sportsperson) but there aren't any easy ways

Well done on an excellent site.

I'm heading to Oz very soon and am grateful for any websites/advice I can get.
You may wish to add -

    stownedcrow.com,
    travelpunk.com,
    travellers.com.au
    travellersautobarn.com.au, and
    coverworks.com

    - to your links page.
I have found these sites very useful.

Also worth stating on your site -

    A. You must open a bank account WITHIN THE FIRST SIX WEEKS of arrival, otherwise it becomes more complicated (points system of some sort ?!).

    B. Irish citizens can get emergency treatment in Oz hospitals (and some prescriptions if required) BUT have to pay for ambulance transfers.
Therefore travel/medical insurance is a must.

    C. You MUST complete a tax return before (30th?) June each year - AND also before you leave Oz. (Heavy fine otherwise!)

    Keep up the good work.

    Silvera.

    :)
