Here's the scenario, Yesterday we got a new TV cabinet because the old one was too small for all the gear. So I disasembled everything and put it in the new cabinet and hooked everything back up. Since then my digibox has been acting up evey few minutes it says "There is a problem with your viewing card call your broadcaster for assistance" This keeps coming and going then the messages change to "there is a problem with your viewing card and either and Irish or an English number comes up after this has been happening for a while the messages change to "Initialzing new viwing card please wait" and after this has been happening for a while the box either hangs on the Initializing new card message or crashes out to a pink screen.

    Any thoughts

    It's a pace 2500

    Cheers

try reinserting the card a few times or giving it a rub with a cloth (not one that has polish or suchlike on it the solvents may not agree with your card)

also reset the box plug it out (from the mains) for 10 seconds and plug it back in

    new cabinet - overheating ??

make sure an inch all around for air circulation - turn off video / dvd or whatever else in the cabinet - open the doors of the cabinet

Depending on the design cabinets for TV equipment may not be such a good idea

    A good cabnet should be

    1) Well ventilated (even with doors closed for example via holes in the back)
    2) Have seperate shelves for Video, DVD, Satellite/Cable boxes etc (so the heat from one unit ising affecting another)
    3) have suitable holes or gaps for cabling between shelves

An open or partially open back design can help fulfil requirments for 1) and 3)

Thanks for the replies, I have already done everything suggested including a force download but it has not made a differance. The new cabinet is open front and back and all the boxes have their own shelf with loads of clearance all the way around.
