Apparently they have electrodes attached to various parts of their bodies which administer a brief, non-lethal electric shock. These electrodes are controlled by a central computer server which is in turn connected to the Sky interactive systems via high-speed fiber channel network.
When you select the person you want to shock you press the Red button on your Sky Digital remote the command is instantly transmitted from the Sky interactive sub-system to the studios computer-controlled electrical system thereby electrcuting the contestant of your choice.
Not only can you choose the contestant you want to inflict pain on but you can even choose where you hurt them. Now that's what I call Reality TV.

Push the RED button now !

*calls cost €1.78 per minute - ask for permission from the bill payer before you dial

No red button in Ireland, but I don't think its interactive and no stupid phone votes either

After watching it for 20 minuted last night, the only button I would press is the Power-off button. Although the concept of the electrodes is very interesting! Maybe we should start another petition???!!!

Pressing RED button brings up a screen with a choice of watching four different colour kettles boil.

Interactive TV, I wonder where it will all go? Owenw has a patent pending on his electrode version, I think the TV people would like to have it the other way around with us, the viewers, wearing the electrodes, walking us up for the adds, jolting us if we try to change channels, if we try to turn off the TV etc etc......:)

Like that "E4 buddy" pisstake on E4. Guy tries to change channel, gun pops out of tv, shoots the remote control, voice says "not while Friends is on" :D
