New Years EVE National Lottery Programme was recorded on previous day.

Winners picture was in Examiner morning before programme was aired.

"Where will you be sitting New Years Eve?"

Isn't Winning Streak always prerecorded ?

Mind you, I think on the saturday shows its normally recorded in the afternoon & broadcasted in the evening.

But last nights show was recorded the previous day - with newspapers publishing photographs of the €1 million winner - the morning of broadcast.

They National Lottery ran an ad campaign "Where will you be on January 31st?"

This programme being recorded on the 30th.

maybe it would have cost more money for RTÉ to have folks working on New Years Eve night

I'm delighted that the show was pre-recorded..
I was at the damn thing, and had I wasted 6 hours on New Year's eve, I would have been pretty pissed off.

I don't think it was a money decision to film it the day before. They had a free wine bar, from 3pm until about 5:30pm for approximately 500 people.. A couple of the audience members got completely whacked out of it.. Slept through the show (Probably the best thing to do anyway!).

It is winning streak after all, so what else can you do during the show
Especially if you can't change the channel :D
