Go on the whisky tour. Up near the castle (can't remember exactly where) but it's pretty interesting. Free samples too.

I have to say I found the whiskey tour a bit boring especially the train ride thingy at the end. You did get a free taste though.

The camera obscura near the castle on the royal mile was interesting and the best thing I did in EDI was a ghost walk tour. I think they leave from the tron if I remember correctly. There was a bunch of us at night listening to stories from a guide around the streets of edinburgh at night. The is also an underground part.

The castle tour was alright, but once you see one castle you see them all. A walk up arthurs seat could be fun too depending on your tastes.

bring your thermals it will be absolutely freezing over there.

    I love edinburgh....

Best view of the city is from Arthur's seat - about 25 minutes climb from Hollyrood park (by teh Queen's gaff)
