I am thinking of getting Sky+ in the new year and will be using the digibox I have now as a second sub, and was just wondering will a sky installer do this, my Digibox is in my sitting room at the moment and I want to get Sky+ up in my bedroom, will sky install sky+ in a new location when they come out?

Is it 15 euro a month for the second sky sub if you have sky+ thanks I think I seen it somewhere.

    Thanks

Yes Sky will do this for you. I think it is €25 extra for the installation if you are moving your existing digibox (same thing really as putting the Sky+ in a new location). I think the price for the mirror sub is correct.

The LNB that comes with Sky+ has four outputs. Two are needed for Sky+. You will need two cable runs from the dish to your bedroom for Sky+ to operate. There existing one will also be used for the existing digibox. If I were you I would pay a bit extra and ask the installer to use the fourth output and put a second cable run to the TV downstairs. This would allow you to move the Sky+ downstairs if at some stage you wanted to.

Thats a good idea actually, Do you think the installer would do that and not try and rip me off?

Do you think there might be a special offer on Sky+ in January?

If you can get an independant installer to source the Sky+ box you can negotiate the cost of any work that you want done. I don't see it costing too much. A Sky+ install is €75, the additional installation for your existing box is €25. If you had to pay €150 in total for the installation I would consider it good value as your system would be very flexible.

I intend getting a SKY+ box from the UK ( have a UK sub).I am getting conflicting ionfo re whether it will function ok without a phone line being connected - not an option as the box will not be in UK obviously! Any one able to offer any advice.

TRAC sat have said: "The Sky+ will NOT function if not connected to a phone line as advanced program listings are obtained this way."

I am not sure this is the case. Arent the listings via a sat.dowload surely??

    Thanks.
