Last nights review of the year was dreadful. They kept chopping in bewteen the 10 best and 10 worst polls.

The best & Worst events were determined by openion poll. Probably a list where respondents were asked to number a list of events from 1 to 10.

It was then supported by RTE news clips & some views by many RTE "stars" including Marty Willian, Des Cahill, Marian Finucine etc.

I did'nt even know it was on....and I doubt I'd have bothered anyway. RTE are truly clueless about "hip 'n happening" telly (daddy-o!).

Yeh it was a bit painful, especially the fact that Ryan Tubirdy was presenting it!!!
Is he going to be all over the TV in 04??? If so...uninstall RTE now!!!!

Joe Duffy saying that while he enjoyed last years great summer he wanted a more stereotypical miserable summer in 2004 reaffirmed the position I took after his handling of the Irish welcome home party in the phoenix park after the world cup. The man is a wankspanner.
And why did a load of idiots who knew sweet FA about any of the issues surrounding the Iraq war manage to get their clips in at number 9? I had forgotten just how embarrasing it was to see Irish people walking down O`Connel Street with their Not In My Name banners, thinking they were great because theyd come out to support what by that stage was more of a trendy cause than anything. The anti war protests meant something when Damon Albarn and a handful of the public undertook some of the first marches in London, and probably a few in Dublin by the likes of the socialist workers party. Once every 2 bit z list celebrity or artists trying more to promote their own poor selling albums than anything else started to get involved, well,if I were Bush I would have started the war to spite them. Did RTE not realise that the fact maybe 10% of these protestors turned out to march DURING the war mean that by and large it was a pile of people trying to be trendy? ****. Few of them could give a sh1te about Iraq now,so why show it? Disgraceful. It was not the deep south in the late 60s Im afraid. It was a load of Irish people who had a half clue which revolved around the sentence"Bush is a mad bastard".

What got worst event of the year?

To be honest, I actually liked the programme. Wouldn't mind seeing it done every year.

Worst event was ther continuing crime/gangland murders. I missed the best event, but I'm guessing it was probably the Special Olympics?
And does anyone know if it's on the RTE website anywhere?

Curiously I can find Reviews of the Year from 1998-2001 on their site but nothing since.
