Mobile Phone International Call Charges

Not taking into account the present Chrimbo offering from O2 at the moment of 35c per minute international call charges, why is it that when I want to call my Irish friends and relations in the North I get charged 95c per minute. O2 seem to have went all out however to accomadate our friends in Africa with rates of 75c to Nigeria, Kenya and other African countries. I know someone is going to feed me the usual line of the mobile networks being built on different backbones but fúck me, I'm not calling a satelite phone, only calling a few miles away from the border! I suppose I might as well make use of the 35c offer at the moment, maybe O2 will be gracious enough to reintroduce it next Christmas too.

IF you are an O2 Billpay customer, you can get an add-on that lets you call all of ireland [yes- incl N.Ireland] and have it billed as a normal local call.
---->EDIT::: and u can get this free, "one add-on per customer"

Still, it sucks if you're prepaid and want to call someone over the border.

To make cheaper international calls via a mobile get a centurey 2000 pre-paid card. Calls to the UK & USA are 6C plus the cost of calling a local number on your network. Works out about 20C Per Minute.

O2 and Vodafone rip customers off with international calling rates.
