    first disconnnect that drive!!!
the more you use it, the more data you may be makign unrecoverable.

Secondly try and download Easy Recovery Professional. Its the best i found. Th demo only lets you recover 5 files, so you will need a full version. I forget where to get it, so search around.

Google for restorer 2000 pro. I recovered about 60 gigs of movies and mp3s after a fúck up involving 2 formats, 1 fat32 and 1 ntfs. VERY few files corrupted after recovery. Doesn't seem to have as much luck with documents for some reason though.

Is there any program that can recover OVERWRITTEN data?
    Particularly on sony memory stick?

I know that computer forensics can recover overwritten data from hard drives.
    But how?

There is but its EXPENSIVE and getting the company to export to Ireland, and to a non copper at that will be HARD

    BeOS Application:
    http://www.asrdata.com/BeSMART/

    Linux Application:
    http://www.asrdata.com/SMART/

Dunno of any Windows apps but if your data is that important you'll go to the lenghts of installing BeOS or Linux :-)
