i may be wrong, but couldn't you just buy any nic/modem combo designed for laptops?

I presume the battery may be specalised.

Ofcouse they dont advertise replacement parts too well on their website, it might put people off buying their machines.

The only place you'll get spare dell parts is really if u find an identical battery or NiC, or failing that, CALL DELL! they've really good after sales support esp. with fixing laptops. Is it still under warrenty? If so u might get them free ;)

no its not still under warrenty... dont even know wats wrong with the battery... just doesnt seem to want to take a charge... when u go into power options it says its charging but is constantly at 0% and the light indicators on the battery itself dont work....

Dell do not carry or sell replacements for out of warranty laptops, they leave ALL that to a company called Service Source in England. The Inspiron 2500 is one such.

Serviceource often peddle remanufactured batteries as new, they are quite difficult to deal with for small orders in my experience. It is a real mess if the replacement part ITSLELF lasts less than a year. Then you find out that they have been remanufactured and that the warrantly is 3 months, or some such crap that they never bother telling you when you buy. As they are in the UK you have no consumer rights with them either.

Search Here , cost about €200 including VAT and shipping I should think.

Their online ordering is fsked at the moment in the end user bit of the site http://www.servicesource.co.uk/

Buy any combi modem/nic such as a Xircom Realport

Ring Dell on the number from their website, and ask for "Components". See if they have what you want in stock.

Bear in mind that you will definitely pay above-the-odds for what you want. Try and find it elsewhere first if you can.

Try the battery recalibration utilities at the links below. They might not work for your system, but you've nothing to lose in trying them.
