Amp and I were going to play in the free entry Poker tournie, unfortunately it started at 6:30 and we decided to go at 8 so we missed the tournie :(

Oh well, off to play my favourite card game, blackjack!
We both stuck down 50 notes and started to play quite conservatively, playing one hand each for the minimum 3 euro stake.

We did ok initially though Amp lost a couple of big ones early on putting him down about half his chips. I was just about keeping my head above water hovering at 5-10 euro up.

After that we relaxed and all the rules came flooding back (its been about 3 years since I played BJ in a casino).
I started to play better and Amps luck kept deserting him at the worst times.

Amp bought in for another 20 and lost 15 of that almost immediately. Then something weird happened. We both started to win, big! I shot up to 150 up and Amp made back all of his lost stack and then some!

Unfortunately as ever, we lost it all again, I finished even and Amp somewhat down but we did get free softdrinks all night and a free chicken dinner with chips :)

The casino is like something from Oceans Eleven without the opulance. Its well run, professional and VERY friendly. Initially I felt very intimidated as it was the night of the big final and I could have sworn I saw Noel Furlong there. All the players at the table were extremely good and knew their stuff. They all offered advice on when to split and when to draw or stay.

The place was absolutely *jammed* though again I think it was for the big night that was in it. I want to try it again on a regular night and also play some poker (which was impossible that night).

All in all, its a nice club with plenty for the amateur out for a night with 50 quid and plenty for the serious gambler too, from what I could see!

    DeV.
