I've been doing some research on that LIDL camera and it appears that it *may* be a clone of a Toshiba camera, possibly the Toshiba PDR-5300. Presumably, the performance of these two cameras is pretty similar then. There's a review of the toshiba on dpreview.com. Must stress that I'm not at all sure about this as I came across this info in a german newsgroup, and my german is crap :)
