    Hallo everyone!

Something re-occured to me tonight, over a few pints. The something is the fact that I lost touch with someone who, while I didn't know for a long time by any means, was quite important to me.

I'll cut to the point. This girl went home to the U.S, we kept in touch quite regularly for a long time, but gradually things started to slip. Now her email account has gone dead, and I'm left with no way to get in touch with her. I had her address and wrote to her, but somehow I've managed to lose that too. However, looking through email records I DO have an address (her parents that she used to live with), so I thought I could mail them, but I then noticed in a later email she refers to her parents 'new house' so I'm thinking they've skipped that place.

To be honest I had resigned myself to probably not hearing from her again, until maybe 2 months ago when on one of the very rare times I logged into ICQ I got a message from an unknown number, basically explaining that she was someone looking for a friend who she had lost touch with my nickname, and she was messaging everyone (which is a lot I can tell you) with that nickname on ICQ to try and get back in touch. She left an email address, which guess what, apparently doesn't exist! I also replied to the ICQ number but no response.

To cut to the chase, does anyone have any experienc with tracking down people like this over the net, or indeed in any way possible? I have no doubt a PI could track her down easily enough. I know the old address she lived at, and so the zip code etc, and I would have thought the name is fairly unusual. However, I don't have the cash to go nuts on the search... Thanks for any input/advice.

Just mail the parent's old house asking the letter to be forwarded if they have moved, then the parents should mail you back with her new address/phone number. It would help if they knew of you though.

Sadly I cannot help you but I hope you get in contact with this girl.

It reminds me of a time I went on holidays with my neighbour to France. I really liked this girl got her email and all but by the time I got home I didnt bother emailing her. A few months later I looked about for the email address but lost it :( It left me very upset but I guess its my fault for not trying to get in contact with her earlier

The world is a big place but if you really want to find someone so bad im sure theres ways around it.

    Best of luck ;)

Her parents do know of me, but to be honest there's no guarantee that whoever is occupying the old place will move it on, or even be capable of doing so. God knows I've lived in enough places that got mail for previous tenants, and we did feck all with it really.

I've utilised a couple of these people finding websites, one actually gave a very promising result..it's her name, right state, the right "approximate age". Says it has her address, birthdate, phone number etc. It wants $7.95 to cough up the details, which isn't much I suppose :) I'd know from the D.O.B given if it's her or not.
