Favourite Channels - Service Unavailable?

I got SKY+ in October, and kept my original box as a mirror sub.
My original card got updated to be the SKY+ card, and the new card became the mirror sub.
The mirror card is working fine with Favourites - I can add and remove them.
The SKY+ card can't seem to access Favourites. When I go into Services to create a Favourites list, I instantly get the message "The service is unavailable. Please try again later" It's been like this from installation.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
(I got the DR software update automatically without any problems, but it didn't fix this problem.)

Can't say I've seen this one before.

Can you swap the cards and set up the favourites using the regular box?

Thanks for the suggestion - I just tried it and it didn't work.

Actually, the message is (and always was) "There is a technical fault. Please retry later"

It used to be the case that, in the info banner, if I hit the blue button, I got the "You need to set up Favourites" message, but now I get a channel with no number or description. If I select that I just get a blank blue screen.

I don't think this is related to the SKY Sports Irish channel change, as Favourites never worked on this box.

I also have this exact problem with my Sky+ box. I phoned Sky technical "help" over the Christmas and spoke to three levels of "engineer" none of whom had heard of the problem i.e. not on their FAQ list.

We tried power cycling the LNB and removing the card, replacing it upside down and rebooting and when that didn't work the guy said that they'll call me back in three or four days time. That was Tuesday last.

I have noticed something similar to this over the last few days.
I select a program in the planner and hit record. I get a message saying service unavailable etc etc.
Hitting backup to close the message and hitting record again works ok though so it is nothing major just a slight annoyance every so often.

Anybody ever get this issue sorted out?

I've also seen the problem mentioned on digitalspy and it seems box replacement is the only option. Sky never phoned me back (surprise), I must get back in touch with them now that I have the time.
