Im thinking of upgrading to Sky+ and am woundering if the present box from Sky(I think its a Grundig?) the only model available at present, have heard of reliability issues with normal Grundig digiboxes in the past.

Would it be worth waiting a few months until say a Panasonic box was released as I believe they are very reliable as a digibox (Have a TU-DSB- 40 at present)

I am also thinking of upgrading to SKY +, i have had a panasonic box for 4 years(ordinary sky dig) and never had a problem with it, I brought it back from England just over 2 years ago, my Irish box is a Pace, the Panasonic is a hell of a lot faster than the Pace, I have heard of a lot of trouble with the grundig boxes with SKY +, the fella I spoke to on the phone recommended a Panasonic box, but sky wont let you aks for a particular model (GITS) unless you are prepared to buy it outright.
please somebody correct me if im wrong on the last bit of this post, this is what I was told when I rang SKY.

Yup, as Tony said, unfortunately only Pace currently make Sky+ boxes.

Amstrad have a license to make them too and are due to release their offering soon. They'd want to be a better offering than their standard digiboxes from what I hear (I have never seen an Amstrad digibox in use and don't think they were distributed in Ireland)
