I have a friend who asked me this.

is it possible to take your driving test in NI with a irish provisional licence?

Can a person from the south take the test up north if they dont have an irish provisional licence?

    No.

You need a NI prov Licence, a NI address, a NI or UK reg car.
I read somewhere you need to be living in NI for at least 6 months before you can apply for a test.

see here for all the info http://www.dvlni.gov.uk/

    EU legislation mate.

You HAVE to be resident for 6 months before applying for a test.

Been there, raged, ranted, no good...:(
